Pure 4X

Pure bicycles are to release a 4X frame. You may not know Pure, they are a fairly new company that has made an impact on BMX this year, employing the expertise of high end titanium frame makers Sabbath Bikes.
Pure bicycles arrived on the BMX scene this year with the Marmite love it or hate it 20 inch race frame an EA Pure race team.
The look of the frame is derived not from a standard double triangle design with a pretty sticker(although animal have done a good job) or strange hydro formed top or down tube, but from every function of each tube being analysed and shaped to maximise performance.
If you read the companys website you find a detailed explanation of every decision they made in the manufacture of the frame.

Conventional wisdom about short back ends and long front ends has been assessed and a new answer produced. I love this approach. The only way forward is to challenge stereo types and find new answers. Pure bicycles appear to be committed to this and are going forward into 2010 with Shanaze Reade on board and new frames in development.
If Pure apply the same detailed thinking to the development of their 4X frame then, we should see something special.
People who have read this site before will have heard my frustrations in the lack of pure bred (no pun) 4x race frames. A company dedicating this level of input must challenge the existing limited but quality choice of the Flow Myth and the new Identiti 4x frame.
We cant wait to see what Pure produce. In the companys own word it will be a cutting edge radical design which will produce the ultimate in 4x frame design and technology.
