Well the 2009 Mountain Bike Worlds is here and is being held in Canberra, Australia, on a 'super pedally course, with plenty of jumps and other obstacles such as speed bumps, awkward jumps, hard rock sections and rollers' according to Brian Lopes.
4X qualifying tomorrow, and racing saturday night, with Downhill racing on the sunday.
The riders of the downhill have chosen some rather interesting rides spedially built and designed for the worlds. Team Specialized (Fairclough and Hill) are on SX Trails with lockout shock. the same goes for Team Ainmal Commencal, buliding Gee Atherton a lighter version of his race bike, heres a quick run down,
Air shock with lock-out.
Lighter weight frame but same geo as his World Cup bike, just without the adjustability
Atherton Pro bars, stem, seat, seat post, grips
Bladed spokes.
Only Steve Peat and Greg Minnaar are running their normal Sanata Cruz V10's, with special world's paint jobs.

Most other teams are going for single crown forks with less travel to help compensate the pedally track.
