You may remember we ran a story, last year on the resurrection of the legendary Kuwahara brand
No apologies for running this iconic image again.
A small amount of the 2007 range came into the UK and anybody who has seen them has been impressed by their quality and level of specification. BMXUltra .Com gave the 07 Lazerlite 19.5 out of 20.
Product development has continued and with input from 2004 world champion Warwick Stephens.
Two complete race ranges are available in 2008 as well as range of dirt/street bikes.
The Lazerlite range is available in pro team to mini. Built around a custom hydro formed 6061 frame and comes equipped with sealed cassette hubs and Funns outstanding cranks and cnc stems and sun rims. The kind of equipment you only usually find on custom builds.
Another tip for this year is the Funn MX components, crossing over from DH and 4X the Funn range is technically advanced and designed with rider input.
Those of you around BITD will remember the Kuwahara Nova entry level bikes. They had the same class as the Lazerlites but on a more pocket money friendly budget. For 2008 the NOVA is back. Built around the 2KZ 6061 Aluminum frame with the same geometry as the Lazerlite. The Nova has flip flop hubs, cromo cranks and aluminum components. This will perform on any track and is ideal for the beginner or racer on a budget. Pro to mini.
For 2008 Kuwahara is going hardcore with the dirt/street Bravo range. Cromo frames, heat treated cromo cranks and sealed bearings and micro drive on the top two models. everything a dirt jumper steet rider would want.
Kuwahara bikes should be in the UK by Christmas and with a new distribution deal expect to see plenty of discerning riders choosing Kuwahara. The Dirt Bike Supply team are already putting their orders in and the Duchy piratesrace and trail riders are having a close look.
I cant stress the quality of these bikes enough , basically im hooked. Kuwarharas heritage and Funns technological approach make for a perfect bike. Im having two, a cruiser for me and a junior, for Beth.
