From What I Gather...

Round 1 of the NPS 4X happened today in Sheffield, while I was in London. Here follows my attempts to find out what happened.

Early morning I think Simon's phone ran out of battery. Late morning I text Andrew to see if he has any power. I take no reply as a sign that his battery is also dead. Afternoon and into the evening still nothing from camp Rickett, but with their impending journey back to Cronwall from Sheffield, I figure it's fair enough if they don't stop on the way to call from a public phone.

Thank god then for Gareth Parr and his 4.46 pm text:

Not sure how quick news
travels but I have a 100%
success rate. I crashed both
days. Hows the flu.

4.49 pm. My reply:

Arse for you boss. Crash in
the final or what? And any
other news? I think Simon's
phone died and Andrew's
not replied to my message.
A good weekend? Turnout?

5.01 pm. G reply:

Final yesterday. Quarters
2day. Digger was
unbeatable until the final
he got last. Andrew and
simon out in motos. Will
went out in quarters. 20 in
elite. Holmes won, lewis
lacey 2. Flemdog made b
final on flats. First time he
has raced on an mtb
apparently.

5.20 pm My reply:

Who won master?

After which Gareth called me back (bored of texting) to say he can't remember who won master. That Digger really was flying. Oggy had a fall in his quarter and... wasn't very happy. There were 28 senior. Toni won all her races and Beth got good 3rds in hers. Good team atmosphere and really good feeling all round.

Richardson won the Dialled senior over all. And Oggy got the Elite.

And the food at the Old Post Office really was good.

So there you have it. NPS 4X Round 1 Sheffield report. Done.
